Lievore Altherr Molina



The company was founded in 1991 by Alberto Lievore, Jeanette Altherr and Manel Molina. Alberto Lievore (Buenos Aires, 1948) studied architecture at the Buenos Aires Faculty of Architecture, Argentina. At that time his work as an interior designer led him towards the world of production design.

In 1972 he created Hip�tesis, a furniture showroom/shop with its own workshops, with achieved widespread local renown. After moving to Barcelona he created, togheter with Norberto Chaves, the Grupo Berenguer, later to be joined by Jorge Pensi and Oriol Pibernat. The group carried out both theoretical and teaching work (Chaves/Pibernat) as well as practical projects, the most important of which involved Lamac, Kron and Perbell. Togheter with the magazine On they created SIDI, which acted as the international launch pad for Spanish design. In 1984 he founded his own design studio, focusing on product design, consultancy and art direction work for a number of companies.

Jeanette Altherr (Heidelberg, 1965) studied industrial design in Darmstadt, Germany, and in Barcelona. She has worked with Alberto Lievore since 1989, but also works independently as a stylist creating reports in several design magazines and "El Pa�s Semanal". She's the author of the book "Children Only" published in English, Italian and Spanish, on objects and spaces for children.
Manel Molina (Barcelona, 1963) studied Interior Design at the Barcelona's EINA design school. From 1985 to 1989, he worked both with Miguel Mil� and on his account in the fields of interior design and renovation, as well as stands, temporary fixtures and industrial design.

The partnership is currently working for firms in Spain, Germany and Italy, most notably on furniture projects for companies such Andreu World, Casamilano, Do+Ce, Foscrini, Halifax, Perobell, Prenatal, Santa & Cole, Tacchini, Thonet, Tisettanta, Verzelloni, Wikkhan, etc.
They also develop interior design, packaging design, product design, and consultancy and art direction projects. In addition, the partnership has had teaching commitments with two of Barcelona's universities and has given seminars in many Spanish universities. The partnership has received numerous awards and special mentions, both in Spain and abroad, for its work including the Spanish national Deign Award (1999), ADI-FAD Deltas (Gold and Silver), FIM National Furniture Design Competition, Best Pack (Gold), Catas Award, atc. It has held both ondividual and joint ecxhibitions in barcelona, Cologna, Chicago, Stockholm, Helsinki, Lisbon, Louisiana, Madrid, Malm�, Milan, New York, Paris and Tokyo. its designs are featured regularly in Spanish and international trade magazines.
